INTRODUCTION

At Reiki Flow & Co in Portland, OR we provide holistic healing through Reiki and Yoga. Our mission is to create safe, inclusive spaces where humans and animals can experience balance, relaxation, and renewal.


REIKI


WHAT IS REIKI

Reiki is a gentle, holistic healing practice founded by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 20th century. The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words: Rei (universal) and Ki (life energy). Reiki channels universal energy through the practitioner’s hands to support balance, relaxation, and healing.

HOW REIKI WORKS

Consent is essential: Reiki flows only where welcomed. The practitioner acts as a channel, allowing energy to move through them to the recipient. Reiki supports the body’s natural ability to heal by reducing stress, calming the nervous system, and restoring energetic balance.

HISTORY OF REIKI

Developed by Mikao Usui in the 1920s. Spread worldwide through Chujiro Hayashi and Hawayo Takata. Today practiced globally in hospitals, wellness centers, and private practices.


YOGA


WHY YOGA

Yoga is an ancient practice from India, over 5,000 years old. It combines postures, breathwork, meditation, and ethics to cultivate harmony between body, mind, and spirit.

HOW YOGA WORKS

Physical: Strengthens muscles, improves flexibility, supports health. Mental: Breathwork and meditation calm the mind, reduce stress, improve focus. Spiritual: Connects practitioners to deeper self and universal consciousness.

HISTORY OF YOGA

Rooted in Vedic traditions. Codified in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras (~400 CE). Evolved into diverse styles, including trauma‑informed approaches.

REIKI SESSION

A typical Reiki session takes place in a calm, quiet space where the practitioner gently places their hands on or near the client’s body to channel healing energy. Sessions usually last about 60 minutes and often begin with a brief consultation to understand your needs.

YOGA CLASS

Yoga classes focus on breath, movement, and mindfulness, with options for modifications to accommodate all levels and abilities. Trauma‑informed yoga emphasizes safety, choice, and empowerment throughout the practice. Both Reiki and Yoga sessions encourage relaxation, presence, and self‑compassion, helping you reconnect with your body and mind.


PRACTICAL DETAILS

Reiki sessions typically last about 60 minutes. Yoga classes generally run between 60 and 75 minutes, depending on the style and group needs. Sessions are available in‑person at our Portland studio, with options for online or hybrid participation to ensure accessibility. Booking is simple: you can reserve your spot through our website form, by email, or by phone.

A: No. Touch is always optional. Reiki can be offered with light touch, no touch at all, or even remotely. Energy flows regardless of physical contact, so you can choose the approach that feels most comfortable, and we will check in with you before beginning. 


A; Reiki can support animals by easing stress, promoting relaxation, and encouraging a sense of calm. Many pets respond positively, especially during times of anxiety, change, or recovery, making Reiki a gentle complement to their overall well‑being.


A: Wear comfortable clothing, arrive with an open mind, and allow yourself time to relax before and after your appointment.


A: Life happens. If you cancel at least 48 hours in advance, you’ll receive a full refund. Cancellations with less notice are non‑refundable. For classes, we ask for at least 3 days’ notice to ensure availability.


A: Our practice is trauma‑informed, consent‑based, and inclusive. We tailor each session to your unique needs, whether you’re an individual, couple, corporation, or animal companion. Clients often tell us they feel seen, supported, and deeply cared for here.
